Solar energy: Neoenergia answers the main curiosities on the topic

10/1/24

Many already know that solar energy comes from the sunrays and works in a sustainable and renewable way, that is, without scarcity of the resource and with low impact on the environment. What not everyone knows are the benefits generated for people, such as the significant savings generated in the electricity bill.

We have separated some of the main curiosities on the subject:

01 - DID YOU KNOW THE ELECTRICITY BILL SAVINGS CAN REACH 95%?

That's right! Brazil is a promising market for solar energy, since the country's climatic conditions are extremely favorable for the use of this technology, with the presence of sunrays in all regions of the country, with greater emphasis on the Northeast. The savings can vary from 50% to 95% on the electricity bill, making it a great option for those who want to reduce expenses and take more care of the environment.

02 - IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE SOLAR ENERGY WITHOUT AN ELECTRICAL GRID?

Yes, it is possible! It is not always necessary to have both energy options in one location. Regions with difficult access, for example, where there is no electrical structure can be supplied with solar panels, called Photovoltaics, provided they are installed according to the expected consumption. For those connected to the electric grid, it is possible to make the connection between the energy models that generate benefits for the consumer. For each extra volume generated above consumption, there is a discount credit on the electricity bill. In this way, the customer guarantees a significant reduction in the total amount of the electricity bill and, if for some reason it consumes more than the volume generated, the power grid goes into action with normal supply.

03 - HOW LONG DOES A SOLAR PANEL LAST?

On average, 25 years! Some people consider the solar energy model to be expensive, but the long-term cost benefit makes it much cheaper than any other energy market, especially in the last few years that the value of this energy has greatly reduced. First, the source is inexhaustible, since the sun will always be present in the country and, as there is no shortage, it does not suffer variation in the tariff. Another important point, the solar plate lasts all this time in full operation, which makes the initial investment a one-time expense over a long period. In addition, any necessary maintenance will be below the reduction generated in the monthly bill amount. All of these factors make this segment the most advantageous for customers.

04 - IS A PROPERTY WITH A SOLAR SYSTEM INSTALLED MORE VALUED?

Yes! A property with an installed solar system can be up to 30% more valued in sales, according to real estate experts. The investment brings benefits not only to the client's pocket but also to the property. In addition, it can bring positive changes in the region, because when starting solar energy in a residence, it becomes a good example for neighbors and condominiums to follow the same path.

05 - WHAT ARE THE GOVERNMENT'S INCENTIVES TO THIS MARKET?

In search of renewable sources, there are financial incentives for clean energy in Brazil, including solar energy. Depending on the state, the benefits can be discounts on IPTU (Urban Land and Building Tax), exclusive financing lines for the purchase and installation of residential equipment, among other initiatives. The solar generation plants in operation in the country helped in more than 50 thousand new jobs in the sector and can, so far, meet a consumption equivalent to the need of more than three million Brazilians.
