Free workshops will be held in Recife (PE), Salvador (BA), Limeira (SP), Natal (RN) and Brasília (DF) starting on October 5; learn how to participate

Starting in October, Neoenergia will hold five free workshops to guide consumers in Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Bahia, São Paulo and the Federal District to participate more assertively in the Public Calls for Energy Efficiency Projects from the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL).

The first Workshop will take place in Recife (PE), on October 5, and is then scheduled to be held in Salvador (BA), Limeira (SP), Natal (RN) and Brasília (DF), respectively. Registrations must be validated by the distributors in order for the target audience to be reached (government consumers and industrial, residential and commercial customers). After registration, the interested party will receive a confirmation email that must be submitted on the day of the event.

In total, Neoenergia will allocate approximately R$ 69 million through Public Calls, in order to encourage projects that promote energy efficiency and combat the waste of electricity in the various types of consumers in the residential (condominiums), industrial, commerce and services, government, and public services segments. The selected initiatives must be implemented throughout 2024 and 2025.

According to Neoenergia's Energy Efficiency Superintendent, Ana Christina Mascarenhas, with the holding of public calls, the process of choosing the projects that are part of the energy efficiency program for distributors, regulated by ANEEL, becomes more transparent and democratic, with a view to the participation of society.

“The five workshops that we are going to promote make it easier to clarify doubts and to prospect for suggestions. The ultimate objective will always be to encourage the more efficient use of electricity by our consumers through projects that prove the economic viability of the actions used with an impact on the electricity sector, requiring that the benefits of the project be at least 25% greater than the costs,” she explained.
