Thirteen projects from Bahia, the Federal District, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte and São Paulo will receive up to R$ 3.26 million through sports incentive laws

The Neoenergia Institute announced on Friday the winners of Jogando Juntas (Playing Together), a call for proposals to encourage women's sport. Thirteen projects were selected from the five areas where the company operates in distribution - Bahia, the Federal District, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte and São Paulo. All of them develop the practice of different sports exclusively for girls and women. A total of up to R$3.26 million will be allocated, from the Federal Sports Law and the São Paulo Sports Incentive Law. Click here to see the selected projects.

Launched this year, Jogando Juntas is committed to promoting social inclusion and gender equality. In its first edition, 155 projects applied. Among the requirements assessed, the selection considered at least one of three United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): eradicating poverty; gender equality; or reducing inequalities.

"The Neoenergia Institute works to build a better world for future generations, and valuing female protagonism is fundamental to this process. Through Jogando Juntas, we reinforce our purpose of strengthening impact actions that accelerate inclusion, gender equality and diversity in society," says Renata Chagas, CEO of the Neoenergia Institute. According to the executive, in 2023 alone, the organization managed more than R$ 19.1 million in projects and programs.

Neoenergia is recognized as the company in the electricity sector that most encourages women's sport in Brazil. As part of its commitment to increasing women's participation in society, the company supports the Brazilian women's soccer teams and the Neoenergia Women's Brazilian Championship. Since last year, it has sponsored the Neoenergia Team, made up of athletes from different sports disciplines.
