With three distributors in the Northeast, the company guides

Customers to avoid accidents during the June festivities

When the color of the São João flags begins to take hold of the country, especially in the Northeast, Neoenergia reinforces its security campaign to guarantee the energy and brightness of the June festivities in the regions where it operates in distribution. With special attention to the public that organizes large camps in municipalities such as Caruaru (PE), Santo Antônio de Jesus (BA) and Mossoró (RN), the company intensified its guidelines for those who want to enjoy the party without accidents on the electrical grid.

“People and event organizers must be aware of the risks involved in setting up decorative structures. The first and most important tip is not to approach the distribution network equipment. It is also recommended not to hang anything on the poles and never set up bonfires under the wires,” says Fábio Barros, Operational Manager of Neoenergia Pernambuco. The distributor, which serves around 4 million customers, has put together a guide with safety guidelines that includes, for example, the correct procedures for decorative installations, such as the “strings of lights” that adorn homes, condominiums, clubs, and public roads at this time of year.

Considered the Brazilian region with the largest and most traditional June festivals, the Northeast includes three of the company's five distributors: Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Cosern (RN) and Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE). The other distributors are Neoenergia Brasília (DF) and Neoenergia Elektro (SP/MS). Both in the capitals and in the interior cities, the dealerships also warn about the danger of clandestine calls. In addition to being a threat to the operation of the electrical grid, the popular “cat” or “monkey” is a crime.

As is the case every year, Neoenergia's utilities carry out preventive operations with inspections and maintenance of the electrical grid. Work begins at least three months in advance. This season, the teams also prepared in advance for the temporary electrical installations. The technical evaluation is quite thorough for the June festivities to take place within reliability, safety, and quality standards.
