Distribuidoras da Neoenergia reciclam 1,47 mil toneladas de resíduos

Neoenergia distributors recycle 1,47,000 tons of waste

9/11/24

The Vale Luz Project reached more than 10 thousand consumers out of five

the company's distributors, which granted R$ 798 thousand in discounts

From January to July of this year, Neoenergia's Vale Luz Project granted more than R$ 798 thousand in discounts on the electricity bills of more than 10 thousand customers of the company's distributors — Neoenergia Brasília (DF); Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Cosern (RN), Neoenergia Elektro (SP/MS); and Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE). The benefit was aimed at customers who participated in the initiative by recycling around 1,47,000 tons of

waste.

The Vale Luz Project is part of the Neoenergia Energy Efficiency Program, regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). The initiative allows discounts on energy bills from the delivery of recyclable waste such as plastics (PET, PP, PE bottles and bags), metals (aluminum and iron), paper (magazines, newspapers and cardboard), glass, electronics and

vegetable oils.

“We are committed to encouraging the conscious, efficient and safe consumption of electricity in all classes of customers. In addition to raising awareness, we contribute to the improvement of quality of life, especially among low-income residential consumers,” says Ana Christina Mascarenhas, Superintendent of

Energy Efficiency at Neoenergia.

The Vale Luz Project has fixed and itinerant tents, ecopoints and post-consumer packaging collection machines (Return Machine) in several municipalities in the concession areas. All discarded material must be sanitized and have a legible bar code, since the machine identifies the material and counts the points of each participant. To participate, the customer must register for the loyalty program, and may discard up to 25 packages a day to convert the discount into the energy bill. If there is a discard greater than this number, the material will be collected and recycled, but it will not

count in the score.
