Neoenergia was recognized with the Pro-Ethics Seal edition 2022/2023 for its commitment to integrity measures to prevent and combat practices of fraud and corruption. This is the fifth consecutive time that the company has been awarded. The seal is awarded by the Federal Comptroller General (CGU) to companies engaged in the fight against corruption, which strive to have effective integrity programs. In this edition, in addition to Neoenergia, the distributors Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE) and Neoenergia Cosern (RN) were also recognized.

The announcement was made at an event held in São Paulo on Thursday (30/11), attended by the Minister of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU), Vinícius Marques de Carvalho, and the Secretary of Private Integrity of the CGU, Marcelo Pontes Vianna. CEO Eduardo Capelastegui, and Compliance Superintendent, Roberto Medeiros , represented Neoenergia at the ceremony.

For the CEO of Neoenergia, the recognition reflects the company's commitment to the topic. “The achievement of the Pro-Ethics Seal reflects our company's continued commitment to transparency, integrity, and mutual respect in all our operations. We are honored by this recognition and reaffirm our commitment to following these essential principles,” says Capelastegui.

Commitment and recognition

In the 2022 edition of Pro-Ethics, 299 companies enrolled in the Program, 254 were able to qualify for the evaluation phase, and only 84 were approved and recognized as a Pro-Ethics Company.

Neoenergia's Compliance Superintendent, Roberto Medeiros, highlights the efforts of employees to achieve this recent recognition. “Receiving the Pro-Ethics Seal is the result of the collective effort of our teams to maintain high ethical standards. This recognition strengthens our determination to promote a corporate culture based on integrity and compliance, fundamental to our success.”

The award

The Pro-Ethics Seal is an initiative of the CGU that seeks to make the Brazilian corporate environment more honest, ethical and transparent, especially in relations with the Public Administration. In addition, it aims to make companies aware of their role in the fight against corruption and to recognize good practices for promoting integrity and good governance.

Registered companies, which meet the admissibility requirements, have their integrity programs evaluated by a specialized team.
