Neoenergia sponsors L'Étape Brasil by Tour de France

12/2/20

Neoenergia is the sponsor of the 2020 edition of L'Étape Brasil by Tour de France - the Brazilian leg of one of the largest amateur cycling event in the world and the larger in Latin America - which will take place between December 4 and 6, in Campos do Jordão (SP). All competitors will receive a portable cell phone charger that runs on solar energy, a clean source. The company will also make brand activations in the race to inform about the importance of renewable energy generation for the de-carbonization of the economy and the fight against climate change and to present energy solutions.

“The incentive to use bicycles and cycling is in line with more than one Neoenergia commitment, the company is one of the pioneers in the energy transition and in policies aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and, in this sense, we believe that it is necessary to invest in sustainable means of transport, such as bicycles and electric mobility. Furthermore, by contributing to one of the most reputed competitions in the world, we encourage sports and engagement", says Marcus Barros, Superintendent of External Communication at Neoenergia.

The event will feature the Neoenergia Space, a stand where three bicycles will be available with blenders attached - two for adults and one for children. When pedaling, the energy produced in the movement will activate the equipment and, in the end, visitors can drink a juice made during the experience. This is a way of raising awareness about the role of each person for a more sustainable world, which necessarily involves clean energy.

At the other side, competitors will have access to an interactive totem where they will be able to learn about Neoenergia's business in energy solutions, among them, solar generation for homes and companies. The group offers a variety of products, including energy storage, electric mobility, energy efficiency and engineering for industrial and commercial consumers joining the free energy market or wish to migrate to this contracting environment, where the company has been operating for 20 years.

L'ÉTAPE BRASIL BY TOUR DE FRANCE

This is the sixth edition of L'Étape Brasil, an event created to offer amateurs and cycling enthusiasts an experience similar to the Tour de France - competition held annually in France and in neighboring countries since 1903, in which athletes run 3.6 thousand kilometers in 22 days. In the main Brazilian event, the competitors cover 107 kilometers and 2,330 meters of accumulated altimetry, equivalent to climbing a 770-floor residential building.

This year, due to Covid-19, preventive measures will be adopted, such as the mandatory use of masks, temperature measurement, distribution of alcohol gel, social distance and cleaning and sanitization of places with higher movement of people. The event organization will act to avoid crowds and deliver new masks to all athletes.
