Distribuidoras da Neoenergia reforçam operação para as Eleições 2024

Neoenergia distributors reinforce operation for Elections 2024

10/2/24

To ensure that there are no major problems during the election, Neoenergia presented the Elections 2024 Plan to the Regional Electoral Courts in the concession areas of four distributors, as well as a special operation in the Federal District.

On October 6, almost 160 million voters in all Brazilian municipalities will have to vote and choose their respective representatives for the Mayors' and City Councils. In order to ensure that there are no major problems in the election, Neoenergia has presented the Elections 2024 Plan to the Regional Electoral Courts (TREs) in the concession areas of four distributors where voting will take place. They are: Neoenergia Coelba (BA), Neoenergia Cosern (RN), Neoenergia Elektro (SP/MS) and Neoenergia Pernambuco (PE). In the Federal District, where there are no municipal elections, the company, through Neoenergia Brasília, also has a special operation to serve the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) and the voting justification units.

The four distributors in the regions where municipal elections will be held are responsible for supplying energy in 996 cities, corresponding to 18% of all Brazilian municipalities that will host elections next Sunday. The plans presented include preventive actions and real-time monitoring of 6,488 polling stations in these states. In total, more than 122,000 kilometers of low, medium and high voltage electricity networks have been inspected; more than 300,000 preventive prunings have been carried out; 385 kilometers of new networks have been built in Rio Grande do Norte alone and approximately 12,000 new poles have been installed.

In all of these distributors, there will be an increase of up to 30% in the number of people working on the streets and in the Integrated Operation Centers, as well as professionals on standby. There will be a suspension of scheduled shutdowns for maintenance of the electricity network during the voting period and extra teams will be made available to carry out complex services while the line is energized.

In the Federal District, Neoenergia Brasília has inspected the electrical installations and circuits that serve the TSE and the places where people will be asked to vote. In addition, the distributor will be working on a special on-call basis next Sunday (6) to deal with any eventualities.
