Rio de Janeiro, December 15, 2023

Light nutrition, good hydration and appropriate sneakers. These are tips from Mirelle Leite, ambassador of the Neoenergia Team, for the runners of the Neoenergia Night Run, which will be held this Saturday (16) at the Bahia Administrative Center (CAB). The start will take place in front of the Department of Education at 19:00.

The two-time South American track and field champion is among the 1,600 participants in the competition that will be divided into 5- and 10-kilometer events. The race will have hydration points. “These are very simple things, but they make all the difference at the time of the test,” says Mirelle Leite. She is part of the Neoenergia Team alongside the four-time world kitesurf champion, Bruna Kajiya; and the Brazilian under-23 road cycling and time trial champion Ana Vitória Magalhães, Tota.

In addition to promoting sports practice among amateur and professional athletes, the race celebrates the completion of the project to replace lighting with more efficient LED models in 30 cities in Bahia and the CAB. A total of almost 18,000 new luminaires were installed. The savings obtained with this initiative are sufficient to provide energy to almost 9,000 homes in the state.

The investment of almost R$ 7 million was jointly promoted by the Government of the State of Bahia, the Salvador City Hall and Neoenergia Coelba, through the Energy Efficiency Program regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL).

“With the new lighting project at the CAB, we are contributing to the preservation of the environment and decarbonization ,” she says

Ana Christina Mascarenhas, superintendent of Energy Efficiency at Neoenergia.

Competitors will receive a kit containing event bag, jersey, chest number and medal. Participants will also be able to enter a raffle that will award a winner with a one-year energy bill paid by the distributor, worth up to R$ 300 per month.

“This is a great celebration with the people of Bahia. We work daily to provide the best customer experiences with our brand. The event was designed to bring all our energy and establish a strong connection with the public in Salvador,” says Lorenzo Perales, marketing director at Neoenergia.
