Rio de Janeiro, 29 de novembro de 2023 - Neoenergia launches a new racing circuit for sports lovers in Brazil. The Neoenergia Night Run will combine the experience of night running with the possibility of new routes in a true green wave that promises to color the streets you pass through. The first stage is already confirmed. It will take place on December 16, starting at 19:00 in Salvador, Bahia.

The race marks the completion of the efficiency of the lighting park at the Bahia Administrative Center (CAB), which has 900 LED light bulbs, an investment made by the Government of the State of Bahia, Salvador City Hall and Neoenergia Coelba, through the Energy Efficiency Program regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), which totaled R$ 5 million. With the project, an annual energy saving of 880 MWh is expected.

The Neoenergia Night Run in Salvador will offer two routes, with 5 km and 10 km, on Avenida Paralela. To start the circuit with Pace up there, the Neoenergy ambassador and South American medalist Mirelle Leite has already confirmed her presence and is going to the track to run amidst the participants. The intention is to bring together the largest number of people at the event, from amateur runners to professionals.

The contestants will receive a kit with a bag referring to the event, jersey, chest number and medal. Participants can also compete for the prize with a one-year energy bill paid by the distributor, worth up to R$ 500 per month.

"For Neoenergia, sport is a powerful tool for inclusion and social transformation. The launch of the Neoenergia Night Run aims not only to promote sports practice, but also to highlight the energy efficiency projects carried out by Neoenergia, and the role of female athletes, such as the talented Mirelle Leite, who accompanies us on this journey, reinforcing our commitment to encouraging sports and the social impact in the areas in which we operate”, highlights the marketing director of Neoenergy, Lorenzo Perales.

Sustentabilidade e Bahia Sem Fome

During the delivery of the race kits, participants will be able to make two important social contributions. The first will be through the delivery of recyclable packaging, destined for Neoenergia's Vale Luz project, which allows the exchange of solid waste for financial credits in the energy bill. The discounts derived from the materials delivered by the participants will be credited to the energy bill of a non-profit institution indicated by the Salvador City Hall. Another contribution from the runners will be the delivery of non-perishable food, destined for the State Government Program - Bahia Sem Fome.

The Neoenergia Night Run is organized by Neoenergia Coelba, through the energy efficiency program of the distributor, regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), to publicize energy saving actions with the support of the Salvador City Hall and the Government of the State of Bahia, partners in the project.
