At a time when the world is undergoing a series of transformations, including new consumption habits and the emergence of technological solutions for accelerating decarbonization, electricity plays an important role in this process. With a focus on ESG (acronym in English for environmental, social and governance) actions, Neoenergia has invested in innovative electric mobility projects to make this an accessible reality throughout the country.

The company developed, for example, a line of business focused on electric vehicle charging infrastructure, including offering chargers and Smart Charging solutions for companies that wish to electrify their fleets and condominiums.

“We work daily to achieve an energy transition in a way that is fair, inclusive, environmentally and socially responsible. Thus, the company has been studying ways to actively participate in the electric vehicle charging market, following a global trend of being a platform for integrated services and solutions for its customers,” says José Antonio Brito, corporate R&D manager at Neoenergia.

Among other actions conducted by Neoenergia, the electric truck stands out, which has an electro-hydraulic air basket to maintain the energy distribution network, in addition to an intelligent system for managing recharging safely and efficiently in the low voltage utility network.

Neoenergia also develops the so-called Green Corridor, which enabled an infrastructure for charging electric vehicles (EVs) in the Northeast Region with charging stations installed and, consequently, provided the first electric corridor and the largest rapid charging electric highway in the Northeast Region, with a length of more than 1,200 km between Salvador (BA) and Natal (RN).

Another R&D project that stands out is the Green Trail in Fernando de Noronha, which establishes, in a sustainable way, solutions and business models for tourism activities, public services and the operation of Neoenergia Pernambuco.
