9/26/24

Space is the result of a project of the Company's Research, Development and Innovation Program (PDI)

Neoenergia inaugurated the Interoperability and Connectivity Laboratory - Multiprotocols. The space is the result of a project of the Company's Research, Development and Innovation Program (PDI), regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), and carried out in partnership with Lactec.

The national electricity sector now has a center of excellence dedicated to carrying out tests on intelligent energy meters, playing a fundamental role in ensuring standardized communication between equipment from various manufacturers.

“The delivery of this project symbolizes our commitment to developing standardized and competitive solutions. Communication interoperability strengthens the efficient expansion of smart grids in Brazil. We will continue to invest in solutions that transform the sector and guarantee a higher quality of service for our clients”, says the director of Processes and Technology at Neoenergia, Heron

Fontana.

The new laboratory, located at Lactec in Curitiba (PR), is a specialized testing environment that operates under the specifications Wi-SUN/Fan - communication technology that connects devices in field networks optimized for low energy consumption, high efficiency and reliability - and PLC/Prime, designed specifically for the transmission of data from smart meters over the electrical grid.

“The laboratory contributes to boosting technological innovation focusing on the expansion of intelligent electrical grids.

Neoenergia is a leader in innovation, through the PDI Program regulated by ANEEL, developing technologies that are inserted in the market and contribute to the modernization of the Brazilian electricity sector”, Calibri”, sans serif">highlights José Brito, R&D manager at Neoenergia.

PDI

Neoenergia's PDI works as a networked innovation hub. It involves 27 companies, of which five are distributors, five are generators and 17 are transmitters. In recent years, the projects developed under the Neoenergia PDI brought together more than 1,400 researchers and more than 70 technological partners between science and technology institutes, universities, industries, startups and technology-based companies.
