Instituto Neoenergia announces winners of the Inspire 2023 Award

Award recognizes 16 women leaders in the field

of art and culture working with local communities

The Neoenergia Institute has just announced the 16 female leaders that won the Inspire 2023 Award. The initiative aims to value women who, through art and culture, promote transformation in their communities with a positive impact in areas of social vulnerability. In this third edition, the performance of cisgender and transgender women from four states — Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo — and from the Federal District was recognized. The list of winners is available on the the Neoenergia Institute website.

“By celebrating and amplifying stories of social transformation, through art and culture initiatives led by women, we are making a difference. We believe that we are contributing as drivers of this change. That's why we are very happy with the women who have done such incredible work” , says Renata Chagas, CEO of the Neoenergia Institute.

The Inspire Award has a technical partnership with Baluarte Cultura and the collaboration of Neoenergia's distributors. The winners will divide the prize of R$ 140,000 into three categories: Women; Collectives and Organizations. Thirteen of them were chosen by popular vote and the other three on cultural merit, selected by the External Committee

of Experts.

In all, 137 women competed this year, 75% of them black, from 58 municipalities in Bahia, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul and the Federal District, reaching locations beyond large urban centers. Criteria such as inspiration, transformation, articulation, diversity, and creativity were evaluated. The award also considered the commitment of leaders to improving the quality of life of people in the communities in which they operate

, boosting sustainable development.
