Over 340,000 people from 134 Brazilian locations were assisted by projects totaling almost R$ 20 million in investments

The results achieved by the Neoenergia Institute in 2023 reinforce the importance of private social investment for sustainable and socioeconomic development in various regions of the country. With a 100% increase in the number of beneficiaries compared to 2022, the organization reached more than 340,000 people from 134 Brazilian locations served by programs with almost 20 million in own investments or by incentive laws. The details of the initiatives make up the one Memória de Atividades 2023 released

this Friday.

Total investments are 28% higher than in 2022. With the support of partner institutions, the Neoenergia Institute served around 128 civil society organizations and other associations located in 134 municipalities in nine states and the Federal District. Around 70 projects were directly or indirectly promoted or supported throughout 2023

.

“The actions of the Neoenergia Institute reinforces the role of organizations as agents of social transformation to support community initiatives on various fronts such as culture, environment and social development” , says Renata Chagas, CEO of the Neoenergia Institute, an institution that celebrated five years last year.

According to the executive, the actions are based on five pillars that contribute to reducing inequalities, improving quality of life, combating climate change and preserving biodiversity. The initiatives are also aligned with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “In 2023, we collaborated to achieve 15 of the 17 SDGs, in synergy with the company's business in the country,” added Renata Chagas.

In addition to the results, the report includes testimonials from participants in the initiatives promoted. This year, the digital document has something new: the reading can be accompanied by songs related to the text available on Spotify.
