Neoenergia Institute inaugurates new lighting for the Senhora Santana Church in Rio de Contas (BA)

With the objective of preserving historic Brazilian buildings, Cultural Lighting Program reaches its sixth edition with a free event for the population

Built on stones and listed by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAN), the Senhora Santana Church, in Rio de Contas, in the Chapada Diamantina region of Bahia, has new lighting. Through the Cultural Lighting Program, the Neoenergia Institute made it possible to install projectors with LED lamps that, in addition to being more efficient, enhance the façade of the monument, an integral part of the city's architectural complex.

The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Neoenergia Institute and Neoenergia Coelba, the company's distributor in Bahia that serves more than six million customers in the state; of the Rio de Contas is from the Diocese of Nossa Senhora do Livramento. The production was provided by Brasilis Cultural Productions. To celebrate the news, the Neoenergia Institute also organized, this Wednesday (22), in Rio de Contas, a cultural event open to the public.

“Our commitment is to value Brazilian cultural heritage and preserve our rich diversity. In recent months, we have built a very close relationship with the population of Rio de Contas, including asset education actions in the city's schools”, says Renata Chagas, president of the Neoenergy Institute.

The inauguration of the lighting of the Senhora Santana Church marks five years since the founding of the Neoenergia Institute. This is the sixth project carried out by the organization that has already promoted actions in Cruz de Cabrália (BA), Fortaleza da Barra Grande (SP), Forte das Cinco Pontas (PE), Memorial Câmara Cascudo (RN) and Theatro Cinema Guarany (PE).

“ The inauguration of the new lighting represents fundamental pillars of Neoenergia, such as sustainability and the sociocultural valuation of its areas of activity. Neoenergia Coelba is proud to be the energy distributor in Bahia and to contribute to the state's vibrant culture”, highlights the president of Neoenergia Coelba, Thiago Guth.

Since 2018, the Neoenergia Institute has invested R$ 40.8 million in projects and programs aimed at helping to reduce social inequalities. The objective is also to promote the improvement of the quality of life of people in vulnerable situations, as well as to strengthen the fight against climate change and promote actions to preserve nature and conserve biodiversity.
