Neoenergia signs commitment to maintain investments in transmission in Minas Gerais

Present in the state with four projects under transmission, the company signs a document to expand the supply of clean energy

A key player in the country's energy transition, Neoenergia took an important step to expand the supply of clean energy in the country. The company signed a term of commitment with the Federal Government this Thursday to maintain investments in broadcasting in Minas Gerais, where four projects are located: Itabapoana (lot 3/auction 2018); Morro do Chapéu (lot 2/auction 2020), Estreito (lot 4/auction 2021) and Alto Paranaíba (lot 2/auction 2022)

The subscription took place during an event in the capital Belo Horizonte, at which the Federal Government announced a set of investments in Minas Gerais that are part of the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC). The ceremony was attended by the CEO of Neoenergia, Eduardo Capelastegui, and several authorities, including the President of the Republic Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva; the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira; the President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco; and the Governor of Minas Gerais, Romeu Zema

“As leaders of the country's energy transition, we continue to play an active role in decarbonization and the advancement of clean energy sources.

We are sure that our presence in Minas Gerais, through transmission projects, is fundamental for the flow of renewable energy, in addition to ensuring the reliability and operational flexibility of the system in the country,” said Eduardo Capelastegui, CEO of Neoenergia.

In 2023, Neoenergia's transmission investments reached around R$ 3.5 billion aimed at delivering 1.2 thousand kilometers of lines and three new substations, in addition to sections of lots under construction, such as the Vale do Itajaí, Lagoa de Patos and Morro do Chapéu projects, which added an Annual Permissible Revenue (RAP) of over R$ 170

million.
