Encourage movement to strengthen women's soccer and celebrate women in society even more

Rio de Janeiro, September 11, 2023

The final of the Brasileirão Feminino Neoenergia 2023 showed that efforts to strengthen the sport modality in the country are generating positive results. The match between Corinthians and Ferroviária this Sunday (10), in São Paulo, reached a historic public milestone. There were 42,556 fans present at the Neo Química Arena, a record when it comes to women's club soccer in South America.

We know that soccer is a Brazilian passion and we want to go further. The performance and leadership in the sport show that we are on the right path. By sponsoring the championship, we pioneered and stimulated the growth of women's soccer in the country. In this way, we are also helping to promote a cultural transformation among Brazilians to recognize the importance of sports and the participation of women in society,” says Lorenzo Perales, Marketing director at Neoenergia.

For the executive, the company believes that women's sports are a tool to promote the social inclusion of women on and off the pitch. “This is the connection we want to establish between the public and our brand purpose,” he added.

Neoenergia's Development director, Carlos Choqueta , was present at the Neo Química Arena and participated in the ceremony to award the champion cup to Corinthians and the medals to the players of the two teams. “It was an honor to represent Neoenergy at this historic moment in Brazilian soccer. Our support for the championship is further evidence of the effort to expand women's participation in the social and professional context, reinforcing our commitment to gender equity”, Choqueta said.

In recent weeks, the event was also widely publicized on Neoenergia's digital channels and on open television. In addition to sponsoring the national club championship, the Brasileirão Feminino Neoenergia, the company supports the Brazilian Women's Soccer Teams, under the contract with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The company also has as ambassadors the three-time world kitesurfing champion, Bruna Kajiya; the Brazilian under-23 road cycling and time trial champion, Ana Vitória Magalhães, Tota; and the two-time South American athletics champion, Mirelle Leite.

#NossaVez — This year, Neoenergia shed light on the importance of gender equality with the objective of getting the Brazilian public to reflect on the topic with the #NossaVez campaign for the 2023 Women's World Cup. The campaign gained global repercussion.

Two advertising films were shown on open television and on the internet. The first was played by Real Madrid's player Rodrygo, who wore the women's national team jersey to energize women. In the second, star player Geyse Ferreira, from the Brazilian national team, was the star.

“In both cases, the idea was to encourage Brazilian society to celebrate women more on a daily basis. Our brand is a pioneer in the energy sector in supporting women's sports and in this transformative movement for gender equity. Now, the campaign has renewed the energy for Brazilians to root even more for the biggest women's soccer competition in Brazil,” concluded Lorenzo Perales.
