Enase 2024: Neoenergia argues that the energy transition must be sustainable and accessible

In a debate about climate neutrality, the vice-president of Neoenergia, Solange Ribeiro, believes that new electricity generation solutions, using renewable sources, need to focus on the end customer

“In addition to ensuring environmental preservation, new electricity generation solutions, using renewable sources, need to ensure affordable prices for the final consumer.”

The statement is made by the vice-president of Neoenergia, Solange Ribeiro, in a debate this Wednesday (19) at Enase, the main event in the electricity sector, which ends tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro.

Solange Ribeiro also spoke about how the Brazilian electricity sector, whose matrix is one of the most renewable in the world, can help with decarbonization in segments that are still difficult to reduce carbon emissions, such as transportation and fertilizers.

In addition, the executive commented that it is essential for the country to develop clear and consistent policies with adequate economic signals for renewable energy. According to her, renewable energy can provide more competitiveness for Brazilian products. She also highlighted Neoenergia's role as a protagonist in the generation of clean energy in the

country.
