Neoenergia Elektro has an intelligent network with equipment that isolates faults and automatically re-establishes energy supply to 2 million customers in concession areas in both states

Innovating and automating the grid is one of Neoenergia's commitments to guarantee energy quality. Present in 228 municipalities in São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul, through Neoenergia Elektro, the company invested, in the first half of 2024, around R$ 5.5 million in automatic rectifiers, equipment that restores supply quickly. In this way, the distributor achieved the significant 70% automation mark of the concession area in the two states where almost 2 million customers are benefiting. Altogether, there are already 4.5 thousand devices such as: rectifiers, automated switches and

intelligent sensors.

These technologies make it possible to re-establish the energy supply automatically, without the need for electricians to act. In a matter of seconds, the equipment identifies and isolates the fault, alleviating the impact on customers who notice only a power surge, that rapid interruption.

The equipment that has the automatic reconfiguration logic, called self-healing, allows the energy supply to be resumed, in an interrupted area, in up to 60 seconds. When detecting interference, which may be caused by falling trees, weather or animal effects, self-healing automatically isolates the affected region and reconnects the network through another path, ensuring the immediate return of service.

The technology is designed so that the rectifiers identify the defect and restore the power or transfer the customer to another network, without human intervention.

“Automation based on this technology allows the smallest number of customers to be impacted. due to an interruption occurrence. This and other technologies contribute to a faster and safer service for our customers,” says Wilhelm Guilherme, superintendent

of Neoenergia Elektro.

Investments in actions for the reliability of the electrical grid are already reflected in the quality indicators in the supply of energy to customers. In the first half of 2024, the index that measures the average duration of interruption per customer (DEC) was better than the regulatory limit determined by the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL), recording 3.14 hours. The result means that Neoenergia Elektro maintains a continuity of 99.93% in the supply of energy to consumers, who receive energy continuously and reliably, with fewer hours of

interruption.

Neoenergia Elektro's commitment to technology is just one of the initiatives in the electricity distribution segment to modernize the country's networks, ensuring the provision of an increasingly better service.
