Neoenergia expands ESG targets

Targets reinforce commitment to reducing emissions, gender and race diversity,

sustainable suppliers and other material topics

As

it celebrates 26 years of operation in Brazil, Neoenergia is announcing the update of its ESG (acronym in English for Environmental, Social and Governance) goals, in addition to its commitment to ESG financing. With the inclusion of new topics, Neoenergia increases the number of publicly assumed ESG targets, approved by the Board of Directors, to 30, and strengthens its position as a company engaged with the purpose of continuing to build, every day and in a collaborative way, a healthier and more accessible electric energy

model.

Among the commitments made by Neoenergia by 2030 are: reducing the intensity of carbon emissions in its generation; digitizing networks; carrying out biodiversity assessments; increasing diversity in the company in terms of gender and race in leadership positions; increasing the number of women trained electricians as well as the number of women in electrical posts; and strengthening its sustainable supply chain. The performance of the targets is monitored, measured, and reported to the market in general in its Annual Sustainability Report

The ESG agenda has been part of Neoenergy's business strategy since the beginning of its operations and is aligned with its commitments to the Principles of the Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), initiatives of the United Nations (UN).
