Created in 1960, the company changed its controlling interest in 1997. It is the third largest electricity distributor in the country in terms of number of customers and the sixth in terms of volume of energy distributed, being the largest in the North-Northeast. Its concession area is 563,000 square kilometers and covers 415 of the 417 municipalities in Bahia and the cities of Delmiro Gouveia, in Alagoas, and Dianapolis, in Tocantins.

Neoenergia Cosern, a Neoenergia company, was created in 1961 and was under the control of the State Government until 1997, when the privatization took place. Neoenergia Pernambuco
Neoenergia Pernambuco is a company controlled by Neoenergia that serves the 184 municipalities in Pernambuco and the Fernando de Noronha Archipelago, in addition to the city of Pedras de Fogo, in Paraíba. The electricity distributor was founded on February 10, 1965, after the merger of the Pernambuco Tramways Group and the State Government, with the functions performed by the Department of Water and Energy (DAE). The company was created with the challenge of expanding electricity supply, investing in improving services, and providing Pernambuco with a reference electricity supply network in the Northeast. Currently, Neoenergia Pernambuco has a concession area of 98.5 thousand square kilometers and supplies energy to 4 million customers (9.4 million inhabitants).

Neoenergia Elektro, a utility controlled by NeoEnergia, is responsible for distributing electricity to 2.9 million customers (6 million inhabitants), in 228 municipalities, 223 in the State of São Paulo and five in Mato Grosso do Sul. The company originates from the spin-off of Companhia Energetica de São Paulo (Cesp), carried out in 1998, with a view to privatization, which took place in the same year. In just over two decades of existence, the company established itself as the best energy distributor in the country, winning the first position in the national electricity sector for 10 years.

Neoenergia Brasília is a Neoenergia group company that distributes electricity to more than 1.1 million customers (over 3.3 million inhabitants). It is the third largest electricity distributor in the Midwest, according to the ranking of the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). The company was created on December 16, 1968 as the Brasília Electricity Company, originating from the Force and Light Department of Novacap. Its concession area is 5,780 square kilometers and covers the 33 Administrative Regions that make up the Federal District.
